On Sunday 9th December 2017, I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of my handsome nephew, Devendra Narvin Narinesingh to the charming and adorable Chitta Christal Rampersad of Rio Claro. This was held at Enchanted Garden- a Convention Centre- located on a hilly terrain in the New Grant, Princes Town.This affords a panoramic view of the scenic east west, north and south mountainous districts. The land on the north gradually undulates to meet a deep valley in which there are a man-made lake and a flowing river. The land is manicured with a luscious green lawn sprinkled with a few fruit trees. There is a relic of a crashed aeroplane and an antique Morris Motor car that sit calmly but they have a magnetic pull and draw everyone near to them. Motorcar. In totality, this place is filled with natural beauty and charm and it complements the interior decor, furnishings, stage and the network of a lighting system with multi-coloured lights and embellishments. The ladies dressed in their various splendid and dazzling saris and shalwars added glitter. The men not to be outdone were well dressed. It was like the meeting of Bollywood stars and celebrities in a gala reception to celebrate the wedding of the Stars of Stars - Devindra and Christal. I was also happy to meet the proprietor of this establishment my very good friend, Ramesh Ramsumair whom I had not seen for about 15 years. He must be complimented for having such a beautiful place. I did a short interview with him. But it is not for public consumption.

This is one segment of five which captured the essential aspects. The battery of the video device ran low on 3 occasions and certain parts were missed out until the battery was recharged.

In my next book but this time on History of Brothers, Garth Road and St. Margaret, this wedding would be highlighted under the rubric of Hinduism- A Traditional Hindu Wedding with modern Adaptations.
